Big Brothers Big Sisters is a national youth service organization that matches volunteer mentors with children. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Monadnock Region was established in 1974 and now serves 49 communities helping hundreds of children.

What does it take to be a Big Brother or Big Sister?

It takes a lot less than you may think. If you have 2-3 hours twice a month to share with a child, you can be a Big. If you like children and would enjoy sharing a little bit of your time, a child is waiting for you to be a role model, and friend.

Bigs must be reliable and consistent. Because you will become an important part of a child’s life, a Little must be able to count on you. Our Bigs are dependable and committed friends.

Here are just a few activity ideas to share with your own Little:
Learn how to change the oil in the car
Bake cookies
Walk THROUGH the mud puddles
Go fishing
Play catch
Take the dog for a walk
Talk, Talk, Talk!!!
